Your grandparents? Do your views represent theirs? Would they be proud of your views? My grandparents also survived but I’m not their spox. I can only speak for myself.

They opposed prison camps, gulags, re-education camps, internment camps, laogai, but not the use of holocaust terminology to current events that don’t even come close. Nice try, though.

I think you'll find that the word 'concentration camp' was used long before the Holocaust - I'd really expect a so-called historian to know about the Boer War. Or does African history not count?

Yes, I know about this. The second world war greatly changed the meaning and appearance of the term.

How exactly did it change the meaning/'appearance'? You don't get to appropriate a term just because concentration camps and death camps (they are two different things, btw) were a horrific feature of the Holocaust as well.

Hi. Jew here. Descendant of the Holocaust. The breaking down of communities, taring families apart, and dehumanization of Jews started well before the Final Solution. Staying silent in the face of atrocities is how we demean the memory of the Holocaust. Never Again is now. https://twitter.com/Liz_Cheney/status/1140988893627478018 …

Jew here. @AOC’s point is exactly why we say “Never forget.” The Holocaust did not begin with the murder of 6 million Jews. It began with the same dehumanization, deportation, and internment we see today. You, sickeningly, invoke the Holocaust to minimize their suffering. Shame.
