The saddest thing about the Mike Richards/Jeopardy stuff is how replacement-level lame he is — the kind of empty grinning suit every workplace has who fancies himself a disruptor but just breaks stuff because he doesn't know how it works or why it was made that way
That goes for the disgusting stuff he's said, too — the kind of B-grade boys talk that is the lifeblood of dim white boys with no real skills except an ability to smile on command and kiss ass. All of it is the antithesis of what Jeopardy deserves.
I will say this tho, this whole thing has been a reminder to me that Jeopardy still exists as well as an excuse to go back to forgetting it exists by next week.
I watched @GayleKing trying to defend him this morning because it happened 10 years ago. Internalized misogyny is strong in her.
After all that, the stuff he said about not being able to pass the jeopardy test himself if he tried — makes him unqualified but also tips off his plans for the show, already in effect with the clues (brands, Disney, & Bible): dumb it down

Seeing anti-"cancel culture" crusaders rally to his side is confusing. It's not like he earned it or was part of building it. It's a coveted job with more popular, qualified, charismatic candidates. They're not just hosting some random game show, they're replacing Alex Trebek.
