It is brave of
@rwalensky to admit that she doesn't understand how the vulnerable can be protected when the rest of society returns to normal life. Of course, simple hygiene measures (hand washing, staying home when sick) should be practiced by everyone to reduce the HIT. -

Using Rt, calculate minimum (‘critical’) level population immunity, Pcrit, acquired via vaccination or naturally-induced, to halt spread of infection, using formula: Pcrit= 1-(1/Rt). If Rt = 2.26 then Pcrit= 0.56; then at least >56% population need to be immune. Too many at risk

The cow analogy doesn’t work when the farmer can infect the old cows. The vulnerable can’t and don’t live in total isolation. Like people in nursing homes, my vulnerable 12 yr old, for example, can’t live alone. Young, heathy people live with & care for the old and vulnerable.
