I HATE results day. With the passion of a large number of blazing suns. Knowing there’s a 90% chance of bad news but unable to extinguish that tiny flicker of painful hope. And the outcomes have CONSEQUENCES. Cheers to everyone fighting anxiety induced nausea with me today.

Here's a great summary of why made a terrible decision when they chose to not support this bill. 🎤 drop

Given ’s lack of support for the Access to Genetic Counselor Services Act (H.R. 3235) I’m curious how many GCs may decide this is not a membership to renew this year.

It’s both validating and crushing to see data around this. Especially in light of how academic institutions glorify the whole “most cited authors” stuff every year - always skewed heavily to men, of course

Mental Health in Academia: What about faculty? V. brave & insightful account by a dear colleague of the types of stress Faculty members can experience. I think we all had to deal with at least some of these issues, so this is must-read material.

Yes, yes, yes! "Oversight needed for safety, efficacy of nutritional supplements" via Supplements = little evidence of benefit, often contaminated, and possibly harmful. Just don't.

Dear white male non-EC colleagues, Want to do something important for DEI this year? Nominate a POC or WW colleague for an award. Minoritized people are nominating each other, but we need help. I promise it won't be hard to find a nominee once you put your mind to it.

I really do not get why it's so hard for some professional organizations to grasp this simple concept: you can't actually welcome *everybody.* If you want marginalized people to feel welcome, exclude those who intend them harm. If you keep the bigots, the marginalized will leave.

Medicine is SWIMMING with women in their mid career with no next rung to go to. I'm going to be really frank about this even though it's painful to talk about. For almost a decade I have been chomping at the bit for a chance to flex my leadership chops within academia.
