    1) “I hadn’t thought about it. Throw something at me and let’s see what my kneejerk reaction is.” 2) 50k higher than you know it should pay. They’ll almost always counter with their max. If they drop you instead, they weren’t actually interested in hiring you, anyway.

    An important point I forgot: if you're in California it's against the law to ask for your salary history (but not your salary *expectation*). Don't give either but they shouldn't even ask for the former.

    Remember four years ago when we all were absolutely livid about how much of an unregulated, undemocratic mess caucuses were, and then we did nothing about it? I’m only putting this year so we can all just schedule an RT of it for 2024 and save a lot of hassle.

    Also, Documentation, automation, and orchestration should be official Success Criteria on all implementation projects. The inability to mark them as completed before this is done ensures it will always be done, and proper time will be allotted.

    If you don’t schedule and block out time for process and tool improvement... ...it will not get done. Don’t expect folks to do “when you find time” during fully booked 40hr weeks after week or to “do it on your own time”.
