I mean, theory is important as well. You have to be advocating and fighting for something, or else you're just a public nuisance. And plenty of well meaning people without an understanding of policy/theory have ushered in terrible regimes.

Uh, most of the deaths that occured under say communist regimes were the result of people doggedly holding to theory in defiance of the bloody reality occurring around them. It is important to have theories. Dogged adherence to an "ism" is useless and toxic.
