Just got physically attacked by a homeless person at Safeway in San Francisco. The guards watched it. The cashier saw it. Other shoppers gasped. But no one did anything. And just like that, I had to ignore it too. Wonder how long will this all continue. SF is not safe.

Yeah, homelessness is a big problem but arresting and throwing them in jail is not the answer - i don’t know if tweeting
@chesaboudin is the answer, these people need help and mental health facilities and a roof over their head - perhaps@GavinNewsom and@sfmayoroffice ?12 replies 0 retweets 11 likes -

Violent offenders - understanding the reasons and addressing the causes is more important - no one wants to be hurt by this and I can understand the sentiment - it doesn’t really solve the core problem and costs a hell of a lot more

Have to agree to disagree. I keep my tone civil otherwise it doesn’t help solve anything. There’s plenty of data with studies that show that our current way of incarcerating people doesn’t solve things and is heavily racist - I have a kid in this city. It worries me too!

Why is it up to the tax paying and law abiding citizens to understand the motivations behind grow ass adults incapable of adulting? And how many more millions of dollars do you think it would take for us to understand it?
