A world "4 times the size of Fallout 4" doesn't excite me. I want a world that's half the size of Fallout 4, filled with "4 times as much stuff". Make your worlds small, and dense
NORMALLY I'd agree with you, but here's why it's a good thing for Vault 76: Multiplayer. They've already said that each world will be populated with dozens (not hundreds) of players. But players suck and can grief you. The bigger the world, the less likely you are to be harassed.

The smaller the world, the easier it is for everyone in Multiplayer to find everything, map it, and be done with the game. If it was just one player, it'd be too much content, but it's not. It's groups. It's a shared experience.

Also, this is a post apocalyptic world. The smaller the map, the more populated it's going to "feel", which is NOT very Fallout. Instead, the map size keeps the atmosphere accurate, while still accommodating a sizable multiplayer base in each game.
