"giving up a night out once a week could save more than £6,000 a year" I'm sorry, they really think millennials are spending £115 every week on a single night out? https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/estate-agent-says-londons-millennials-should-stop-buying-sandwiches-holidays-and-nights-out-in-order-a3690481.html …
Darling, I eat out twice a week. Once on Thursdays with the bf (LADIES WOT LUNCH!) and once on Sunday (brunch, darling), and I still manage to spend only £40 a week, and that INCLUDES GROCERY SHOPPING.

They're pulling numbers out their fucking arses. "cutting out takeaway meals would knock £2,640 off household spending" assuming once a week, £50?! Do they think we're made of fuckin' money?!

The bf and I do what's called "Pizzapprentice" every week, were we get a takeaway pizza and watch, you guessed it, The Apprentice. Total cost? £12. Where this company gets fuckin' FIFTY QUID A WEEK from I dunno. People who are already rich? Trust fund kids?

Also, basically this boils down to "don't have nights out or dinners out or have a holiday or buy lunch or get a new phone or do anything fun for FIVE YEARS and MAYBE you can get a house, provided you have RICH PARENTS willing to stump up at least £30k"

Yes, let's put the blame onto millennials for daring to eat out, and not onto the bastards who priced us out the fucking market in the first place, or crashed our fucking economy. "oh but make sure you buy lots of diamonds! don't want that to be another thing you've killed!"

So basically, don't do anything fun ever and you can own a house, but make sure you're spending money on frivolities like diamonds and golf and vacations and bars of soap (not liquid soap, gosh!) and oil and cars and hotels and whatever the fuck else we're killing.
