Why give out badges just to take them away? This is like the partner program all over again. Give it out to anybody and now the people who actually use it has to suffer.

The old system “verified” that a channel had 100k subs, but the badge itself wasn’t meant to be an award, just to help viewers find official channels. As YouTube has grown, we needed to update our criteria to help people find the official channel.

It's been that way. You dont know what our mindsets are. You're not a psychologist. There's a guarantee that there are channels with 100k, but have their subs hidden, and is not eligible for verification. It will be confusing to the audience who is the legit one
