    The last crew member of the Shetland Bus operations has died. Jakob Strandheim was 101. He took part in 56 missions to carry refugees out of Nazi-occupied Norway into Shetland, as well as supplies and equipment to his country to help sabotage operations.

    I have a "foreign-born parent", yet, as a white person, for some reason I never get asked where I'm from or told to go back there. It's a baffling mystery. 🤔

    Examples of people with a “foreign-born” parent include The Prince of Wales, the Home Secretary, the Chancellor, the Foreign Secretary, all of the Prime Minister’s children, and Sir Winston Churchill. Is that who you had in mind, Lionel?

    Back in the day, every year the powers that be at Reed would book us a stand-up to host the 'Scope channel awards. They got through a few. Most were only okay. One caused great offence. One was memorably a complete arsehole. Then one year they got us Sean Lock.

    This morning I am particularly appreciating the small army of administrators, clerks, receptionists, and office managers, mostly in primary care, who did the mountain of tedious admin work to get the vaccines to so many older and clinically vulnerable people in the UK. 1/
