    It was my experience with the Registrar Recorders office that got me interested in politics At the end of the day, both sides just want what everyone wants. To live happy/healthy lives Idk where life will take me but when all is said and done. I want to have made a difference

    Politics is fascinating. I love how two sides can look at the same information and draw drastically different conclusions, yet each side is 1000% sure they are in the right.

    What are you going for? Do you know? You can't know or do everything in security. You just can't. There's too much. Trying to do that without a plan means working yourself to exhaustion and feeling like you've been chasing your own tail. Figure out what you want. Focus on that.

    There’s always cons, trainings, and certs. It gets expensive fast and It can be disheartening when you feel like you’re chasing a pipe dream. Then you reach a point where you feel you’ve already invested so much so you need to see it through. I’m glad someone mentioned this.

    sorry for a negative tweet, but-- it's frustrating when you work what feels like every waking moment (often for free), and invest basically every dime you make back into your education or growth, and then kind of realize one day that you're not sure what you have to show for it.

    Schools need to stop playing. Not once have I needed to know that the mitochondria was the powerhouse of the cell. I have however needed to file taxes, vote for laws, and sign contracts. None of which do I understand. We need to teach for the 21st century. Just saying.

    💯 This. Just focus on being better than you were yesterday. That’s all that matters.

    I always see the question “how long did it take to find your first bug?” - To be honest, the answers are rarely going to be useful. It may take someone with several years of relevant experience 1 day, or someone brand new to tech/security 6 months. 1/2

    It’s incredible what some people have accomplished.... truly impressive. Modify “Stanford” to any other term you want to find in the resume. Harvard is another cool one!

    In 6th grade, some kids were making fun of my name. “Is mail” “ishmeel”.. you know, standard stuff. 1 guy had an epiphany as he discovered the perfect insult. He decided it was so brilliant that he would shout it at the top of his lungs mid class. Here’s what he yelled, “I SMELL”
