For me personally, this Test win brings a strange emotion. I was in Christchurch in 2019 when the Test match got cancelled due to the Al Noor Mosque shooting. To see them win their next Test in New Zealand, is personally a special occasion. #NZvBAN

Not surprised that Asia Cup added reserve days for only the India-Pakistan match and the final. Surprised that they haven't sent the other participating teams home. #AsiaCup2023

News: Zimbabwe beat Bangladesh chasing 304 runs. BCB: We don’t know if its true. We just heard it in the media. We will investigate. We will find out soon.

Cricket is being played in Sylhet for many years but nobody thought of doing a photo shoot inside the tea gardens next to the stadium. Until today. It was a sight to behold, as Robi and I saw from nearby.

Thread 🧵 On the morning Bangladesh players escaped the media at the airport after a crushing Asia Cup campaign, Zimbabwe beat Australia for the first time in Australia.

Indian team does a lap of honour of the Sylhet stadium, thanking the massive crowd that came for the final. They took just 36 minutes to finish the chase, so there's plenty of time this afternoon.

I have carried Mominul Haque’s captain blazer all the way to Indore. I was in Galle during his Test debut in 2013 and have followed him since his U19 days. A really proud moment for me. #INDvBAN

If ever there was a cricket team that deserved success, it is Sri Lanka. What a time to win a trophy, what a time to turn it all around. Well done.

Bangladesh cricketers are allowed 30 minutes outside after spending their first 48 hours in Christchurch in their hotel rooms.

Lovely touch from the Sylhet boys for one of their own. Ebadot Hossain gets the salute from Khaled Ahmed and Abu Jayed after his match-winning 6-46. #NZvsBan

Shakib Al Hasan deserved this player of the tournament award. Six hundred plus runs and 11 wickets. Nobody in history has done it in World Cups.

Ten years in , a phenomenal place to work. You appreciate the independent journalism at a time when so many compromises have to be made in the media. Gratitude to Almighty Allah for providing me with the strength, patience and luck.

Shocking that a cricket board's social media page could make such a post. This is Shahidul Islam's head in Shakib Al Hasan's body.

That's it. The end of Mashrafe Mortaza the captain. He had given it his all. He led with honour, and he brought 50 ODI wins to Bangladesh. Imagine, doing it all on two rickety legs.

The Bangladesh players have boarded the flight from Christchurch. I am also in the same aircraft. They look in good spirits.

A stellar World Cup campaign comes to an end for Shakib Al Hasan. Runs, wickets, impact. What a player. Once in a generation. The greatest from Bangladesh.

Taskin Ahmed is only the second Bangladeshi fast bowler to win a player-of-the-series award in an overseas ODI series. The other one was his mentor Mashrafe Mortaza. #SAvBAN

Year of miracles continue for Bangladesh January: Beating world champions New Zealand in a Test in their backyard, for the 1st time. #NZvBAN February: Recovered from 45-6 against Afghanistan. #BANvAFG March: Beating South Africa in their backyard for the 1st time. #SAvBAN

BPL commentary is teaching us new cricketing terms every day. "Mushfiqur Rahim is a responsible catch-man." Never heard catch-man before? What's that?

A lot of credit to Bangladesh for coming as far as the 50th over of the Asia Cup final without Tamim and Shakib. Just goes to show how far the ODI side has come. There'll be questions about their top-order but for now, let it all sink in.

A superb win, mainly due to the start provided by and Soumya Sarkar, but it was Mashrafe, Mehidy and Sakib who bowled them to a strong position. Good fielding too. An allround effort that would please the team. #BANvWI

Has anyone ever thought where would Bangladesh cricket be without the generosity of Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and other nations in their formative years? Social media doesn't let you think. Just react. Well, take a bit of time and think please.

How poignant that Bangladeshis will support England as it was England who lifted Bangladesh's mood last yr by agreeing to tour.

I think the smile on the faces of Mithun and Rubel says a lot about the Bangladesh team at this World Cup. When you have the subs enjoy success, there's something good happening. #cwc19

Bangladesh "winning twice" today isn't the first time. Do we remember the Elias Sunny incident against West Indies in 2012?

Left-arm pace bowler Ruyel Miah of Sylhet has just completed figures of 8-26 in the first-class match against Chittagong. Best bowling figures by a fast bowler in Bangladesh FC scene in seven years.

Taijul Islam taking the final catch with a diving effort doesn't surprise me one bit. He really doesn't care if he is a sub fielder, despite being a senior in the squad. #NZvBAN

“Your prime minister is unbelievable. She has immense love for sports. A prime minister is telling me that I will watch the whole game, I won’t go to the hotel. It was unbelievable to hear such a thing from a prime minister. " on the Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina.

Some series win this for Bangladesh. A special performance from the entire team, not just the individual performances. Tamim, Domingo, Mahmud have made it work at the top. Shakib, leaving his ailing family members, strikes the winning hit. #SAvBAN

The amount of catches dropped off Taskin Ahmed, it is remarkable how calm he remains. Only a couple of times I have seen him really lose it.

Tamim Iqbal, for me, defines hard work. He does the extra mile, spends that extra couple of hours in the nets, in the gym, and most of all, in his mind. He breathes cricket. Congratulations for reaching 7,000 ODI runs. May there be more.
