nah you were clear! that's what I assumed was the case (cough, billions of clones of flappy bird, bejeweled, bomberman, etc)
One thing that is arguably copyrightable (more successful in some territories than others) is the 'look and feel' of a game.

yeah I saw they mentioned the blue wall. which is an interesting issue since that's more of an art thing which Is copyrightable

Defo a grey area. Could argue the appearance/art of blue wall is copyrightable but how it works isn't. You'd have to compare look of walls.
