Two big UK fines under GDPR this month so far: (i) British Airways- fine £183.39m, after its infringements of GDPR affected 500,000 BA customers. (ii) Marriot International- fine of £99.2m, after its infringement of GDPR affected about 339 million guest records.

In both cases, the parties had co-operated with the UK data protection authority and had improved its security arrangements following the incident.
