    Worth reiterating that if R>1, these kinds of models will inevitably produce exponential growth - it’s not really a result, it’s just a reflection of implicit model assumptions.

  6. The key is protecting LMICs by bolstering NPHIs - ’s appears to be leading here and much of their preparedness would be good to take worldwide. Resilience of HICs appears to be strong. Will allow ’s projects time to hopefully be successful 3/3

  7. To me, much of what happens next boils down to two things: veracity of claims of pre-symptomatic transmission & control of transmission/clusters outside China. I am fairly confident in ’s assessment that the outbreak can be contained. 2/3

  8. Thanks Laurie! That‘s the trouble with these unknowns, gotta hope for the best (bottom left of box) but prepare for worst (top left). Thankfully 100 years of medical, hygiene, screening, surveillance & intl. coordination improvements will likely protect the world from that. 1/3
