I'm fine with them in concept. But how do ou teach kids that the straight up theocratic fascist state are the good guys without selling the idea that theocratic fascist state is ok and we should be ok with being nothing more then slaves to a vast uncaring state.

I would start by disagreeing that the Imperium are the good guys in any way, shape, or form, but that as it encompasses most of humanity, it still has good people in it. They are absolutely a theocratic fascist state, but for our protagonists, we look for the Oscar Schindlers.
