Parenting a toddler is such a fun adventure.
I just found half a packet of fruit loops in a child sized bucket carefully “stored?” In the dogs bed.
The true miracle is the dog didn’t eat them and the fruit loops live to fight another day.

Just caught up with Monzas race from the weekend. I’m fast running out illusions that is a fair and level playing field.
My lifelong fandom is looking less and less likely to continue.

Air canada are a bit of joke too. They oversold this flight and were offering $1800 cash to fly tomorrow. Alas, I have jury duty tomorrow so I couldn’t take them up.

A 1h 20 flight from Toronto to Raleigh is all we had to do today.
We got to YYZ at 10.30 as we knew the security queues can be horrendous. Our 2.30 flight was cancelled. We’re finally on board another plane bound for Raleigh at 1900. 8+hrs waiting for a 1hr flight. Lame.

In the presence of greatness tonight with Porcupine Tree. First show in 12 years and the look on their faces after the first song made my day.

Rammstein put on a HELL of a show last night in Boston. Incredible staging!
Today we fly to Toronto to see an all time fav band of mine, Porcupine Tree.

I emigrated 4 years ago today!
Feels weird sometimes looking at the UK from afar but I can put my hand on heart and say that I could never afford the quality of life I have here back in the UK
I miss my family often and a few home comforts but overall would recommend emigrating!

After the recent NYTimes story regarding that poor father and a supposed CSAM violation where the Police decided he wasn't a criminal but Google did I'm slowly but surely de-googlifying critical parts of my digital life. Starting with

I'm late to this party but 24hrs in the Steam Deck is probably my fav tech purchase of the last few years. Seriously impressive!

It's working! Arc A380 on fully #opensource driver (sans FW caveat) on #Linux 6.0+ w/ mod option & Mesa 22.2+. Plus open ecosystem with Compute-Runtime/L0 & growing #oneAPI
Wonderful seeing Intel's continued open-source commitment

I’m 8 hours into a new game of Factorio with Space Exploration and I don’t feel like I’ve even really begun this play through yet.

Next I'll try the card passed through to a Linux guest. But I'll have to compile the unreleased Linux 6.0 kernel to get the required Intel code - finally an excuse to run mainline!

Update: GPU passthrough with a Windows guest results in a code 43 error. None of the usual Nvidia tricks worked to fix that so I guess it's a driver thing :(

New Muse album. Closing track is titled “we are fucking fucked”. I could not agree more.
Great music and the harmonic progressions in places are as good as ever. Matt Bellamy is a genius.

The saddest thing for me about modern tech’s long spiral into user manipulation and surveillance is how it has just slowly killed off the joy that people like me used to feel about new tech. Every product Meta or Amazon announces makes the future seem bleaker and grayer. 1/n

It's the London meetup live show special! Joe is joined by and to discuss how to accept that most people who use/connect to Linux machines don't use it on the desktop.

Your post "New Drive Burn-In Rituals" really touched me. First, I'm running badblocks on some drives right now, one "new" and some retired and some destined for reuse. Second, I'm using tmux for the first time to run these on a headless server.
