A few facts & figures about the abstention rate in the #GreekElections coming up.
-
-
9. All parties that entered parliament in yesterday's
#GreekElections lost voters, except the Centrist Union and PASOK. -
10. In PASOK's case, the gain in voters is artificial in the sense that they ran as a coalition with Dimar.
#GreekElections -
11. Interesting also to note that PASOK+Dimar+Kidiso in Jan = 470K votes, whereas PASOK+Dimar yesterday = 340K.
#GreekElections -
12. The party that lost most voters compared to the Jan
#GreekElections in absolute numbers is Syriza (-325K) -
13. In relative numbers, the parties that lost most voters are Potami -41%, ANEL ,-32%, Syriza -14%, ND & KKE -11%, GD -2%
#GreekElections -
14. Very likely that what enabled smaller parties (Centrists, ANEL & Potami) to reach 3% & enter parl't is abstention.
#GreekElections -
15. Also interesting to note that the # of voters whose parties didn't enter parl't diminished (-90K votes or -16%)
#GreekElections -
16. This may mean a strategy to"vote useful" among those who chose to vote in the
#GreekElections. - Show more

@IrateGreek Irate have you taken into account the people that are registered voters but have migrated ? -
@pappy_65 I'm talking only about the Jan/Sept difference. There can't be so many ppl who emigrated in such a short while. -
@IrateGreek@pappy_65 True, but a lot of us emigrants made an effort to come back in January. This time we stayed away. -
-
@IrateGreek@pappy_65 True. And not necessarily disillusioned, also just broke.
-
-
-
@IrateGreek how much of that is people not voting and how much is people who moved abroad? -
@grodaeu I'm talking only about the Jan-September difference here. The # who emigrated can't be that big.
