While it may only be small comfort. The developers for the site will have had to mitigate their impact with the net gain rule. You'll be able to get a copy of the ecological report from the council or developers stating what positive actions were undertaken.

The developers of the new housing estate in my village were granted permission subject to certain accommodations for wildlife. They've completely ignored every single one and nobody at the council appears to be addressing it.

Makes me laugh. Seen new housing estates named, Kingfisher Reach, Bluebell Fields, Rivers Rise. The river will probably flood, you've no chance seeing a Kingfisher, and the Bluebells were ripped out and concreted over !!

it’s sickening what’s happening to our countryside. Our natural world can’t take much more. It never comes back. The last ten years I’ve noticed a decline everywhere. Money talks
So much empty brown sites should be used first. When will powers that be wake up!!

1400 homes (maybe more) to be built on green belt land. It’s so so sad and at a time that climate change is so prevalent more houses seem to be being built on land that is much needed for our nature and wildlifehttps://www.cheshire-live.co.uk/news/chester-cheshire-news/fears-schools-future-revealed-over-17625469 …

It is already home to animals who share our planet. They have no voice but still deserve homes. Imagine if we were to kick out people and bulldoze through their homes...

Agree totally. Especially when there is so much brown field sites available and are just not being used. We are ruining the country side for future generations.
-
Often greenfield sites are less biodiverse than brownfield sites, especially if they’re actually green fields (pasture). Sadly scrub is very valuable for wildlife and badly underrated, even by conservationists.
