After a long day’s journey, #Concorde safely reached Brooklyn Navy Yard where it will go through restoration. During the three-month project, the jet will undergo meticulous treatment, such as paint removal and recoating.

The Intrepid Museum joins the nation in mourning the passing of a true American hero — Senator John McCain. As a naval aviator, he flew missions off the ship beginning in 1960. Here at the Intrepid Museum, we will be proud to continue sharing his legacy for years to come.

58 years ago, Intrepid served as the primary recovery vessel for 's first piloted Gemini mission, Gemini 3. Helicopters from Intrepid picked up astronauts John Young & Virgil “Gus” Grissom and their two-person capsule after their three-orbit, five-hour space flight.

Join us for a Memorial Day ceremony tomorrow at 10am honoring the men & women of the United States Armed Forces who have given their lives in defense of our nation. Concludes with veterans unfurling a 100-foot U.S. flag, the playing of Taps, and a flyover by Navy fighter jets.
