Injured back in May with heavy DL single or double. Took couple weeks off, went back, back always sore after even light DL wkouts. Thot I was reinjuring, but I wasn't. The key is to keep lifting AND STRETCHING, esp low back rotation.

Your main spinal erectors get very strong, but there's zillions of tiny stabilizing muscles in spine/arse that work in different directions, so strengthen them. But DON'T stop lifting. Else the muscle won't heal right. Lift less for fewer, but don't stop.

And yes... you'll be careful of form for the rest of your life, so... bonus!!!

I usually switch over to doing rack pulls on some weeks. Less chance of injury and helps build strength in your back. Also, do Abs.
