    Release Day! American White Pelican had been in care since September 2019. It was found in Santa Rosa with a wing fracture which our veterinarian pinned. After the pins were removed, our staff had to help this patient regain wing strength:

    The Brown Pelicans are beginning to show their breeding plumage. The males’ heads turn bright yellow and the backs of their necks turn a deep reddish, brown (almost black). With bright blue eyes, it’s no wonder they drive the pelican ladies crazy.
