We are down 400 officers. Not "down to".

Which is why we should focus our
#policeState on Violent crime and limit their roles where they are clearly ineffective.#DefundThePolicehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohNk85CqIAo …2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes -

You continuously demonstrate how woefully ignorant of how effective crime fighting is done in this country. Little crimes lead to bigger crimes. Traffic and ped stops, guns and drugs. That’s how it’s done. It’s too late when criminals have already moved on to major felony crimes

This study disagrees, showing that reductions in the arrest rate of low level offences,, reduced police shootings and did not lead to other higher level crime. Do you have evidence supporting your opinion?https://twitter.com/samswey/status/1419664134191284227?t=jZhwvAYCjQCrnvxOyvMs4g&s=19 …

Samuel SinyangweVerified account @samsweyI analyzed data on fatal and non-fatal police shootings in America’s largest cities. Cities that reduced arrests for low level offenses reduced police shootings - and did not see crime increase relative to other cities. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/police-arresting-fewer-people-for-minor-offenses-can-help-reduce-police-shootings/ …1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

Nonsense. 30 years in the business and I speak for the ones that do the work. Ignore it like your progressive fellow travelers have done and reap what you sow. Anybody taking “academic” studies before real world experience is a fool

Real World experience, police cannot effectively implement the drug war even in the most secure settings.

John Hamasaki @HamasakiLawOne other point this illustrates is the futility of the supply-side focus of the Drug War. If police can't keep drugs out of heavily, heavily secured facilities, what makes you think that after 50 years of trying, billions in policing, it will work now? https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-06-07/opioid-overdoses-sheriff-narcan-jails …1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
