Leaked Ruddock report already a joke for some Libs. One ridicules idea of banning gay kids from religious schools, saying “it will get really interesting when they refuse kids from divorced parents.. even more interesting when they expel kids whose parents are adulterers”

Indeed. Or Muslim prayer vigils at ADF bases? Why is same Sex attraction the only sin they have a neurosis about? They’ll go broke boycotting divorcees adulterers and thieves. Whited sepulchres and Pharisees the lot of them.

David Marr wrote (I'm paraphrasing) that gay rights are the last great 'war' for conservatives - they'll fight & fight but they'll lose, eventually. In the meantime, so much damage will be done to innocents & just ordinary people seeking fairness & integrity from their community.

That is true I think. Religion has lost every war it has fought against science. Until they accept we are born as we are and not ‘intrinsically disordered’ they will conthis cruel madness. Morrison has never repudiated conversion therapy. Ask Professor Phelps.

Continuing on, why anybody with a gay child would want to send them to such a school is beyond me. So the choice is easy. Find an inclusive school, there will be many. Those schools (unfortunately) have that right under religious freedom. But can we please not politicise this.

I attended RC schools 4 my entire schooling, & I'd never send any kid of mine to a religious school. However, I'd argue that the notion of religious freedom & exclusionary/discriminatory practices is entirely political, especially when govt funds these schools with public money.

Nor would I but I think saying it is political because of funding is incorrect. The government funds all schools. I am not religious by the way and my thoughts on it is another thing. But unfortunately we have to allow them to make decisions based on their religious beliefs.

So by your argument, female circumcision is ok if the school requires it ? There is one law for all and religion is not the law. Government/state/constitution are separated for a reason and this is why.
