6/ Get serious about poverty. There is no excuse. Start looking after our people. Don't harass, threaten or penalise those who can't work and those who already have nothing. (Do we even have to say that? Seriously?)

5/ Stop austerity. The wrong people are paying for the 2008 crash. Sort out a way to tax the multinationals, and do it pronto.

How To Be Heroes - a message to politicians for 2019. (Thread) 1/ Stop lying. Say what you fucking mean. If you can't say all of what you mean, at least stop lying. It is enraging. It demeans you. It demeans all of us. One more time: stop lying.

Today rail fares are increasing by more than 3%. Let's bring our railways into public ownership so they work for the many, not the few.

94 people desperately attempting to cross the channel into the 5th richest nation of nearly 70 million people - who refuse to help them - is not a migrant crisis. It’s a moral one.

You need to note this moment in your history. This moment when your gov’t asked families to pay £40 for kids born in the UK to apply to stay, based purely on the ethnicity of the parents - citizens legally here. Not even register. Apply. You need to note the date and time. Shame.

What kind of mental health 'care' leaves abuse survivors living in terror of the character defamation known as personality disorder diagnosis? How can people process the effects of abuse if talking openly with MH services may result in a character slur?

This is disgraceful. are claiming that the presence of people with disabilities at a protest "clearly suggests fraud may be being committed". This is illogical, offensive and perpetuates the worst kind of bigotry against the most vulnerable in our society.

    Replying to and

So you didn't have "info. to suggest fraud may be being committed", you just took it upon yourselves to pass on video footage so that the DWP could investigate whether fraud "might" be committed. Since when did the police become the DWP's private investigative agency?

Today is Ali al-Nimr's 24th birthday. He remains in prison because he took part in a peaceful protest in Saudi Arabia - when he was 17. I stand by my 2015 demand: the UK Government must pressure Saudi Arabia to release him and every other unlawfully detained political prisoner.
