Maybe you live in a neighborhood that isn’t as effected by the surge as Hayes Valley? The closest WG to me is at Parnassus & Stanyan. If I never traveled east of Cole Valley, I’d think crime was down too.

Huh? I live in the Outer Richmond District and our La Playa Safeway and Walgreens on Point Lobos are constantly being hit. I've witnessed at least half a dozen shoplifting incidences, all brazen and a couple violent towards employees. What magical neighborhood do you live in?
