the initial state is asymmetric so in a sense this is just lucky .. but if you fix it just right then you can get some symmetry .. in fact these are essentially what eigenmodes are

Yeah for small amplitudes there are! But idk I feel like this bot gets lucky a lot even with larger amplitudes. Initial velocity being zero helps too I bet
