that happened to me to, it's because you're using a "nice" microphone to record your audio and most capture apps like Quicktime only support Mono audio.. So you need to import your video to Garageband and then change Mono to Stereo .. i'll link a tutorial

I think you could also use `ffmpeg` to copy the channels. Let me see what command would do that...
