ψ isn't 0 it just squares to zero! sorry i understnad how it's confusing what i said my previous comment was actually misguided

What does it mean to square to zero? Unless do we mean *not* abs square value and instead (1-i)*(1-i)? So I was viewing psi we a complex number and psi^2 as |psi|^2! Is this a feature in fermionic statistics?

yes indeed. think about them as operators instead of numbers .. for instance think of Nilpotent matrices
