Hey @InertialObservr do you know any good reading that describes the relationship between nuclear force and atom repulsion? I’m have a really hard time understanding and wrapping my head around how they both can coexist.

there is no real relation between the strong force and the fact that atoms repel

So then is it really just as simple as how ever close or far apart atoms are from each other determines which force has greater strength and over powered the other?

yea i mean it depends on how close you want to get them . what scale are you asking about?

No particular scale I was just trying to understand how both repulsion and attraction (nuclear force) can co exist at the same time and both effect an atom. I’m trying to understand how just distance between two Atoms is the determining factor of wether it’s attracted or repulsed
