Haha I just read this after posting a pic... You're looking at things the wrong way! It's not that you have no interesting lab/fieldwork locations, it's that the whole world is where you do your research :) (Man, the amount of work I've done in the weirdest places...)
Not depressing at all. I love seeing folks pondering their work and difficult problems in front of a blackboard, whiteboard, legal pad etc. Because you know they will obsess about it when they fall asleep too!
