It’s funny, but at the time I clearly remember developers being like “what the fuck with the analog.” And it was a learning curve to read it, and console and arcade games had eschewed analog inputs. But. Now it seems essential.

I first tried the analog controller (not the Dualshock) with Croc on PSX and remember hating it and falling in every pit and from all platforms. I got used to it because it was a Christmas 97 present from my parents and felt bad not using it.

Sony later released an analog controller and then after the 1st Dualshock, the button was for compatible games. Some games didn't work with the analog sticks ON.pic.twitter.com/o66KG9JKdK
