Anyone have any resources for learning how to make those nice physics animations with Matlab and/or Mathematica and/or Python? (Think, for example, @InertialObservr 's animations)

Sorry, never wrote down anything. Most of the time I make the code itself public, but I never wrote a tutorial. If enough people would find it useful I imagine I could write one (although the animations by
@InertialObservr usually look prettier, so you might want to ask him

yea i'd never actually made a tutorial .. the easiest thing to do is just write your animation as a function of a single parameter that evolves and then export each frame in a for loop and then stitch together externally using imagemagick, blender, etc .. you can always 1/2

Replying to @InertialObservr @j_bertolotti and
run Export["name.gif", AnimData] if you want though, depending on the keyframing you desire .. if it's just linear then this is sufficient
