i'm not sure .. i didn't map anything to black which spot are you referring to?
oh you mean the brightness? .. i think that's just the fact that the edges got sampled less

There are patches here that look black to me, though maybe they’re just very low brightness in some colour. I thought you might compute a final destination for every pixel, but encode the time until rest in the luminosity.pic.twitter.com/JZSwKsYv5X

I won't have to do with "less sampling". My guess would be the brightness indicates how fast a magnet was reached.
