Oh, now that I see someone who creates these magic tricks, I have a question : how do you come with the idea for these optical illusions ? Is it "try-and-error", do you have an intuition for this or is there actual theory behind creating these illusions ?
I'm sure there's a theory of perception, but the stepping feet illusion is well known so i just animated it ..

It must be because the dark block can be seen moving against the white background but not the dark background when movement cues are minimal, whereas it's the opposite for the yellow block.
