What parameters am I ignoring? The ‘fancy’ colors are the arg of the spherical harmonic, which is why you see it repeat after a half-rotation

Well, translational, rotational and vibrational degrees of freedom are imho nothing that help understand the essence of electron density or core composition of different atoms.

What? The radial and rotational degrees of freedom and the schrödinger equation are literally all there is to hydrogen quantum mechanically.. If you want to get into a core understanding of atomic structure you need to solve confinement first (a 1m$ prize awaits)

as long as your willing to take the limit of that and say image you have ever seen of a physical theory is 'wrong' .. the theory that makes your cell phone and internet run so that you can respond are 'wrong'..

'wrong is wrong' No, no no. You can rudimentarily measure the degree of 'wrongness' by a simple mean deviation of the experimental results from prediction..
