What parameters am I ignoring? The ‘fancy’ colors are the arg of the spherical harmonic, which is why you see it repeat after a half-rotation

Well, translational, rotational and vibrational degrees of freedom are imho nothing that help understand the essence of electron density or core composition of different atoms.
