      Well Erad is basically a result of the temperature. And yes I d assume the radiation to be that of a black body. And well the point of my question was that i have a hard time understanding the meaning of temperature in this context as well.

      In particular I came across the following statement: The quark-gluon plasma transition lies at about T ~170 MeV. Now if i have a bunch of hydrogen atoms at 0K in a Volume V, how much Energy do I have to inject for the temperature to get to ~170 MeV

      Because energy and temperature are *very* different concepts. It just turns out that there is a consistent set of units where they have the same dimensions

      Well this is just a formula to calculate the kinetic energy in a gas at a certain temperature. They are related in this context alone.

      Right. Energy there means <E> average kinetic energy of the molecules, whereas when we talk about energy in QFT we're talking about the CM energy of a scattering process
