i have to do actual research, but my gut is telling me Bessel functions (they are known to describe concentric waves) Dusting off my continuum mechanics.. i think the Bessel funcs are the solutions to a set of differential equations called the 'linearized water wave equations'

Bessel functions are basically the cylindrically symmetric equivalent of plane waves -- look up the Hankel transform. So yeah, Bessel functions of order 0 are standing waves with cylindrical symmetry.
