Yeh seems everyone else sees that but i can't make myself see it. Just a hole in both cases for me
sometimes if i squint my eyes so barely any light gets through it helps me see illusions

At first it was hard for me too, even if I already knew what was going on. Maybe, try to consciously acknowledge the dark parts on the bottom one as the shadows of the blue piece. That made it works for me, like it poped out the volume of the piece.

When I learnt about Fraunhofer diffraction I tried that to check my eye can see the diffraction pattern.

The fruits of training for years on optical illusion art at the mall. I can get it to pop and depress without squinting, but there’s a weird sensation in my head whenever I switch. Not sure if that’s healthy.
