I've tried covering part, changing the brightness, rotating, zooming... it always just looks the same :/

for me what i see is it either as a missing piece or a blue piece on top

Funny, I can see it both ways in the lower image (depressed and embossed) but in the upper one I only see the "depressed" version, I'm guessing it's due to the lighting.

We're so used to light casting shadows from above that on the lower image I can see both versions (although the embossed piece is the most immediately obvious) but I can't see the embossed version in the upper one no matter how hard I try
