It’s a misleading coincidence that the Schwarzchild radius is where the classical escape velocity equals c, and this is often misexplained when introducing the concept of black holes

To everyone who thinks this isn’t misleading: applying naïve Newtonian physics to light being bent by gravity gives a factor of 2 discrepancy with the predictions of GR, even in “weak” limits. Newtonian physics is *not* valid to describe how light behaves in a gravitational field
