Memed myself into unironically thinking it’d be better if science was more subjective, as in if scientific reasoning (esp. but not only inferences) should have more and more explicit acknowledgement of the role of idiosyncratic background beliefs. Objectivity is anti-science.

Concrete example: people have serious disagreements about the foundations of quantum mechanics. But many of them are non-objective, traceable to prior preferences for simple ontologies vs. simple connections between theory and experience.
For what it's worth, i've been on the edge about announcing my support for using the Everettian language of QM. There are some things i'd still like to think through more deeply, though. I will grant that it feels like the most natural vocabulary to use.
