Who needs matter when you've got a strong force? I'd like to see a really careful study of the particle spectrum in a world described by an SU(n) Yang-Mills field and nothing else. There's a $1000000 prize waiting for someone who does it rigorously.

yes that was a confusion for me when I was learning chiral perturbation theory.. how do we predict the particle spectrum after the 8 lightest mesons? Oh, we really can’t and if you can then you get a million dollars
