You do lattice ?

Not on a professional level. Just tinkering with the algorithms. Have to implement iteration over the links and their respective staples first, though…

I’ve wanted to tinker with it for a while , but my animation rabbit hole is going quite deep

It clearly pays off . Your animations are lovely! If you’d ever decide to invest some time into lattices - here is the best book that I have seen so far: https://www.amazon.com/Quantum-Chromodynamics-Lattice-Introductory-Presentation/dp/3642018491?SubscriptionId=AKIAILSHYYTFIVPWUY6Q&tag=duckduckgo-fpas-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=3642018491 …

You’re welcome! I don’t think I asked before, but what’s your research area? Theoretical Particle Physics could mean at least several different things! String Theory? QLG?

I do a bunch of stuff.. mostly BSM Physics .. eg dark matter, confinement and chiral perturbation theory, CP violation, mass hierarchy problem, and just overall model building. I have a paper coming out in thermally induced confinement in the early universe soon

Oh boy, this sounds awesome! Are you going to post it on arxiv?

Though I will say it’s less insightful than it sounds .. the idea is that if temperature correction to QFT can induce confinement if the ‘pion’s’ could interact with dark matter and give the right relic abundance

**then the pions not ‘if’

This is very intriguing! I’ve encountered philosophical arguments about temperature in the context of QFT/cosmology before, but never seen the mathematical definition of it. Would love to study it in detail, though. Do you have any references per chance?
