I've been using Mathematica since '82, when it was "SMP" and I got it via the Caltech physics dept. I use it for ordinary programming as well as for maths. I transcribe MMA code into Python when I must collaborate. Knowledge of MMA is rare. Python doesn't have "Manipulate" :)

I now get MMA on an annual, corp. Premier Service License. Not at liberty to report price, but it's a bargain & orders of magnitude cheaper than supposed competitors (MMA's only real competitor is Python [free], and the other tools usually mentioned are not actually comparable).
