quantum computers to me seem like one of the more compelling points you can make that we're in a simulation... we're able to take n bits and process them in a state space of 2^n that isn't represented by physical particles. the universe just tracks everything behind the scenes

Confessing this is something I’ve thought about prob more than I should have too. Like, even allowing it’s a quantum computer, surely the capacity is <Bekenstein Bound and it should be computing locally, otherwise it has to decide where to devote resources at each time

So you can’t think the capacity is defined by size of the whole universe solves the problem, plus deciding where to allocate resources would also take resources, so local def simplest solution, but then BB is an intensive value

This is literally what I think about when I'm procrastinating my assignments. Like, how the hell does the universe "computer" things that even a quantum computer the size of the universe couldn't compute???
