It looks like the ultra low polygon models we used to have to use in the first 3D games.
yes it looks like the person who designed it only knew how to fit the shape of a truck using a polygon mesh , but didn't know how to take the limit

One commentator mentioned rhat when you use 'hard steel' it is hatder to form, hence the origami look. Also made them wonder about crumple zones, the lack thereof.
