          Someone once told me the first (& maybe 2nd) time you teach a class, you do a crummy job trying to figure out how to do it well; total learning low. Then you go through a couple cycles of good teaching & learning. Then eventually you get bored & as a result learning declines.

          Re: Stay Physics (aka StatMech) - why the dread? About @katemath tweet - I really admire that (I taught three different Chem courses and build teaching labs - I had three years of Chem in junior high/high school).
